Dynamite Prawn/Shrimp is a favourite Japanese appetizer dish. It’s basically battered prawn/shrimp (sold here), deep fried to golden perfection and tossed with a honey-mayonnaise light dressing. Sounds really simple but they are deliciously addictive.
INGREDIENTS
1 x 500g Prawn pops (can be bought here). You can substitute the prawn pops with southern style chicken pops or our Classic Crumbed Bites as well.
1/2 cups Mayonnaise
3 tbsp Sweet Chili Sauce
2 to 4 tbsp Hot Sauce like Tabasco sauce
1 tbsp Honey
1/2 tsp Garlic Powder (Garlic paste can also work)
1 tsp Vegetable oil
1 tsp Vinegar
METHOD
Deep fry the prawn pops until golden brown. Remove excess oil by putting them on kitchen towel.
In a separate bowl, blend the ingredients for the dynamite sauce together until smooth.
Transfer the prawn pops to a serving bowl and pour the dynamite sauce over to coat each one.
Garnish with spring onion (optional) and serve immediately.
